*phew* I don't know why I waited so long to dig into this thread...it's so cool! Mame, that song you posted awhile back, the "Peace" one--so pretty! And Jo--the thankful dance is so much fun. And Mallory--go to Adam's website: http://www.adamalonzo.com/photos and look at the photos for August 22nd. Yes we have hummingbirds in Ohio too! I've seen them a lot out at Greg's dad's place. All you need is a feeder strategically placed by the window and they'll come out of the woodwork!

Okay...let's see if I can tackle this thread.

Kindness: My husband did some work for our neighbors across the street and rather than let them pay him for it, he insisted that they get a gift for ME instead. Because I took care of Caleb while he helped them. Because I stay home and take care of Caleb every day while he works. So next week, I'm going in for a 1 hr massage, a pedicure and a manicure. How awesome is that?

Beauty: My baby boy while he rests peacefully in his crib.

Abundance: Green peppers and tomatoes in our garden. Lots and lots of them!

we put out little feeders and they come, and it is amazing.

I keep meaning to put out a hummingbird feeder.....thanks for the push!! We have them too, but not in great abundance usually.

Kindness: My son made a special trip home from work today where he was roofing to bring an extra wheelbarrow for our neighbor to use. I'd seen the neighbor trying to move a big pile of dirt from one side of his house to another -- one shovelful at a time.

Beauty: Puppy Sarah's big brown eyes

Abundance: (& kindness and beauty) -- a group of friends gathering tonight for a surprise birthday party for our friend who is having serious health problems.

Kindness: Multiple kindnesses that must be stored away in my heart.

Abundance: There is something so deeply satisfying about food that is just spicy-hot enough to almost make your eyes swim! Made a big pot of spicy red chili, which I will enjoy all week. Also someone gave me more tomatoes than I can possibly use up, so I cut a couple up along with purple onion and cucumber and mixed it into some cottage cheese. Just a little salt and pepper makes this a delicious refreshing salad to calm down the palette after spicy chili.

okay gotta do a kindness beauty and abundance to chime in here, so here goes

kindness- is Brian finding time to dream up such a place as this Chat Chat Chat garden of souls, and actually taking the time and energy to make it happen... Thanks Bud...

Beauty- are all of you kindred spirits that have gathered here, to fulfill that whole, "If you build it, they will come" dc

Abundance- ups and downs, melancholy middles, inspired instants, residual rememberies.... and pies, shoes, coffee, gnomes, etc etc ad infinitum hence justification for abundance

Now down to the nitty gritty of calling Ms Scarlett on the post, she has fallen into something lately, she does it regularly, as I do I, and we are kind of enjoying it.... I love falling in love with her over and over again....

(ohhhh and your picture is soooooo gooorgeous!)

Beauty: Turning off my lights and my dogs adjusting to lay closer to me because they are snuggle monsters. Their warm breathing and quiet beauty after all the rambunctious adventuring at the park, and the way they stick together and belong to each other. They really make me happy.

Abundance: Talking with Mom tonight and reading more e. e. cummings poetry while enjoying triple vanilla ice cream with the most amazing strawberries from the market and melted chocolate and pecans. Yumm. Even e. e. cummings is yum. Mostly spending time with Mom is Yum.

Edit: HA I only just realized that Yum is the woodpecker ... term of endearment that Rich mentioned? LOL

I've been slacking on this, but not due to any drought of examples! Here is my list for the past week!

Kindness and Abundance:
--4 friends have come over to help me declutter and clean this week to get the house ready to market, 2 just kept me company which helps me stay on track, but the other 2 worked their tails off!
--One of those friends who lives really close had me over for lunch yesterday, after helping me all morning. We had a lovely salad, roast beef sandwiches with spicy mustard, and a raspberry dreamsicle! yum!
--Another friend paid me generously to load some software and troubleshoot her laptop. Her check more than paid for my auto insurance and kept me from going into overdraft today. Oh yeah, and I HAD to go to Starbucks and buy a pumpkin spice latte so that I could use their wifi in order to do the work.
--And a sixth friend took me out to my favorite inexpensive Thai restaurant for dinner tonight! I am so blessed!

Beauty:
--Three beautiful deer with fuzzy antlers hung out in my backyard all afternoon just resting! They were completely unalarmed at my presence while I took a few pictures from the edge of the deck. They were just the picture of peace and rest, reminding me not to worry; that I can trust the One who is really in control of it all! (maybe I'll come back and add some pictures when I have more time.)
--My living room and kitchen absolutely sparkle! Don't remember them ever being so clean and lovely. Now for the rest of the house....

Mame I saw your house and deer photos on Facebook. How neat!

Kindness: We're going to see my aunt in Columbus for a couple days this weekend and she decided to pay the hotel bill (we could stay at her house but it is quite cluttered...not enough room for mom dad and baby makes three).

Beauty: Sunshine on an amazing Ohio September day.

Abundance: the talent and generous heart of my husband, who has agreed to take care of the lawn for some friends of ours while their house sits on the market waiting for somebody to snatch it (they've moved to Oklahoma). This lawn is pretty big..takes him about 6 hours to do front and back, and I come along and camp out and we make a day of it.
