well.....
i have quite a large unlandscaped back yard..with a pool, and the only season we seem to have here is fire season (and, while i hang a lot a malibu..i am in the flats inland and just fine..except for choking othe smoke and spending a lot of time sending good thoughts out to my fellow CA's)
I have a geat bonfire area and very thoughtful and forgiving neighbors....
can i be a stop on the tour???
of course..i will want to go to everyone else's place too..what? do we rent a bus? a 2000 version of the merry pranksters? we could do one of those traveling meals..dinner one place, appetizers another, dessert....of course, we'd have to eat BETWEEN the courses, or we'd starve...unless we loaded the bus with chocolate and wine and bread and cheese and music and..
can i ramble or what?
ok..i'm done
oh wait...elle...i was always the pic taker too....i always was furious that i was never at any of the functions that i took pics of, altho i do not like the way i photograph and often would grouse about it. I am sure you are absolutely beautiful, and no one, NO ONEis ever as good looking in pics. I think there is something to that nativer american (i think) superstition about the camera stealing your soul.
anyway...you now have a cameraman....let him take a pic, it will at least be taken thru the eyes of love.
peace,
michele

funny you should say that, mish....i have native american in my lineage, and that superstition is true. that could explain things a bit! I have an idea for a photo...we'll see if it turns out or not.
i love the idea of a cross country tour....sounds like great fun!

Oh the Joy that is StoryLand. Can I just mention, Brian, that I love today's story? She seemed to move everywhere dancing & music followed her like leaves on the wind.
And speaking of dancing, and the song Krista was "Singing" here... well, that was the first song I thought of when I saw Scarlett's post, too! Not hard to tell why. You can listen to that at Tina Malia's webpage, too, if you want....
Just click on "Full Moonlight Dance." http://amidarecords.com/shores.html
The song I learned in girl scouts was more focused on it as a round than the harmonies, but it was so gorgeous. Tina Malia's version is exquisite, and its hard to listen to without wanting to get up and dance around a bonfire, or anywhere!
My Cleveland (and around the world) friends (mostly from high school - some from college and who knows what) have a Gathering every summer in Twinsburg, OH. We have a friend who has come in from London for 3 of the 4 (she spent last summer teaching English to orphaned children in Ecuador), and friends in Pensacola, FL, and North Carolina, and Chicago and Dayton and all over Cleveland, from Chardon to Westlake. Every summer we spend a 3-4 day weekend camping in tents in Pache's 4 acre backyard, with two fire pits that we put in ourselves, and lots of camping food and just being together, getting firewood from her beautiful woods, playing loud celtic music (though styles vary it always comes back to Loreena McKennitt somehow ) and laughing. A Lot. Every year it seems to be so different, too! Always something to look forward to!
Funny, among those friends (including Finny who owns Fearless Leader and Ari who is the reason I met Pache and probably that we have a Gathering at all ^.^) are people who firmly believe that camera's steal souls. I don't know if they have any native american heritage, but I wouldn't be surprised if Finny had elven heritage! I just found out after my recital last year that I have native american heritage on my dad's side, and I was like, OH that's so cool! Because I really resonate with a lot of their beliefs, you know? But I have to admit that I love pictures for how they preserve memories and can be shared so easily, like here! On that note, there is at least one hilarious video of the two of them hiding from another friend's camera... You know, they enjoy the video after its over at least, right? *laughs*
Anyway, if you need a few acres of joy for our tour in Twinsburg as a place to camp and have a fire and great food... then, a visit to Cleveland is only about 30-40 minutes from there and my wonderful homey home is nextdoor.... and then Dayton is on the way to FLORIDA! AND I like run-on sentences. Almost as much as I love productivity after a fun audition with awesome possibilities for service oriented classes. Have I mentioned that UD is a really awesome school?
Peace in your hearts,
With the love of my soul

Okay, Kindred, I fixed all that I could, and some have recently been intentionally deleted by their owners. I think it's time for some new one's though!

BTW--I posted some new awfully cute kitty pix down in Gratitude Journal, but it seems Krista and I are about the only ones who ever seem to go there anymore. Check it out!

This is me, just trying to blend in at the local Mardi Gras festivities last weekend. It was bitter cold!
I'm the one with the feathery face.
I felt like an exotic bird!
In the end I traded in the peacock feathers for the warmth of the faux fur-lined
hood of my oversized "Nanook of the North" coat.

Cute.
Here's a cute pic of Me and our Katie Kitty:
I had just gotten out of the shower so my wet (long) hair was in a ponytail behind my back...so as not to disturb the Katie cuteness.
One thing I've learned in having these foster cats--kittens like warm things.

Now Sassy, that just aint right. no comment, just laughing emoticon...
almost like you are calling me chicken.
I am gonna scroll through that thread and see how many of you are on there...
Then we may play a game of I will show you mine if...
Well I will post a pic...
Need a current one, cause my hair has grown since the last time I had a pic taken
I guess I could post one before I started growing my hair out, but keep in mind it is nothing like what I look like now... would you want that?
