I was emailing with a few of the people who hang out around here & when they asked me if there were going to be any other forums, I said, I don't know. What would you like?
& immediately I heard that we should have at least two separate places. One for general chatting (which is Chat Chat Chat) & one for putting creative work, like poetry & songs & essays & whatever else comes to mind that'd fit there.
(I was going to call this Galloping Wildly, after one of my favorite Steven Leacock quotes: 'He jumped on his horse & galloped off wildly in all directions at once.' But I think Wild At Heart captures the unruly aspects of creativity almost as well..
So, this is for you. Feel free to fill this place with the songs that bubble up from within. We all look forward to hearing what you bring...
with love, Brian

Dear Ang,
Well, it's kind of a two step process, but not at all difficult.
First, you need to have the image on a server somewhere. I think in an earlier topic, schatzi has recommended a free pic server in response to susan. You'll need to upload to the server & get a URL for where you uploaded it to. (I use the StoryPeople server, but I have special privileges there.. When I don't have special privileges, I use my mac.com account...)
Second, you need to embed a URL reference to the picture that's now on the server in the body of your post. Here's the format you use:
<img src="http://your.picture.server/yourdirectory/yourpicture.jpg">
where your.picture.server is the server designation
where yourdirectory is the directory where the picture is stored
where yourpicture.jpg is the actual filename. You can display JPGs, GIFs, TIFFs & one or two other standard formats.
Oh, also, make sure the check box for Disable HTML in this message is left unchecked, otherwise all it'll do will display the code you just typed in..
Hope that helps..
with love, Brian

: D It kills me that there are so many people out there that actually see what you just said as 1.) a two-step-process and 2.) Not at all difficult.
Whoa.
I think I'll stick to my little back yard of cutting-and-pasting....
This is my first forray into a world other than chatchatchat....
Better get up to speed and see what comes from it....

What a great place. I enjoy story people emails so much--so interesting-- and now I can join an online chat room that actually interests me.

I am so loving everything there is to explore here, and above all, basking and joining in all the unconditional love.
Thanks so much, Brian.
I just had this idea, that might be complicated - I have no idea - I'm computer illiterate, almost. But what do you think of having a search in the chat forum? Just curious. I love the search option within your stories... it helps me to find something I remember reading but forgot to place as a favorite, or even helps me to find a favorite that I can't find among the good long list! I'm sure many people have different things they love about searches. I really enjoy google, google desktop, and gmail because it is so efficient... when it comes to searching. I am a seeker... Its what I do. Who is with me?
Peace and love, friends,
Mallory

Hello all,
Newbie here to this forum though I've been an educator online in Creative Writing and World Lit. and training teachers for 10 years now...
I make decorated horseshoes for fun and profit and will post a picture. I ride my horse, Grace, aka Classic Seeker, every day. She's my bliss.
I live in Kalamazoo, Michigan and yes, there really is such a place. It's a nice town to be FROM.
I travel as often as possible. I like to ski and I speak internationally. Just returned from Venice, Italy, one of my favorite haunts, as well as Ireland, west coast, Co. Clare.
Anyways, really like Brian's art and messages and stories of the day so thought I'd just drop in...
Maybe spring will arrive soon...we still have snow on the ground from a blizzard a few days ago. pffffbbbbbttttt....That's a raspberry.
Ginny Little
I cannot paste pictures in here and when I click on IMG well, I don't see how to upload a picture though I get the code part. hmmmmm...

Welcome Ginny!
Come in and have some tea Its a tradition around here, so I've heard. I'm pretty new here too, but its a beautiful place to be a part of. There are so many amazing, delightful souls that love and give so much of themselves.
I almost went to college in Kalamazoo - for music therapy. My roommate at the University of Dayton is going there for Graduate school, - she got full tuition plus a stipend. Go Creative Writing - you get to inspire young people to use their ingenuity! That's beautiful. I'm a horse lover, and can't wait to seek more opportunities to enjoy being with them. Looking forward to getting to know you through your inspiration.
Peace,
Mallory

GINNY,
Welcome! You bring a much-Storied name with you, if you haven't noticed!
Re posting photos: Below is the instruction Schatzi posted for Story Land some time ago...
Susan, you have to have your pics uploaded to the internet somewhere. For example, I have a www.photobucket.com account (free) where I store lots of pics. You upload your pic from your computer to your account. Then, when you post you click the little button above your post that says, "img." Then you paste the url of your picture to the message. Then click the "img" button again.
Here's an example:
my pic's url is... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/atcpa/Pro%20Shots/461693264105_0_ALB.jpg
So, when I want to post a pic, what you write will look like this (without the spaces).
[ img ]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v48/atcpa/Pro%20Shots/461693264105_0_ALB.jpg [ /img ]
Without the spaces, you get an image like this...

Ok so I have an "I'm SOOOOO curious" question - *grins* coming from oblivious me and computer/technology challenged me, I ask for forgiveness in advance.
So I know that there is a "search" in the chat chat chat section, (I often attempt to use it) and I was just curious if I was oblivious before, or if it has been added some time in the past year and a half or so? Anybody? Some people are far more "ON" to these things than me. hehehe.
Either way - I love it and it helps me!!!!
and at the moment, I just want to hug the whole world - so everyone gets a big round of hugs!
Peace in your hearts,
With the love of my soul
