There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend... He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see
The world, I will marry you.'
One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her Boyfriend.
He asked her, Now that you can see the world, will you marry me? The Girl looked at her Boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her... She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life lead her to refuse to marry him.
Her Boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her
Saying: Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before
They were yours, they were mine.
This is How the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.
Life Is a Gift
Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak...
Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.
Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before whining about the distance you drive think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the Unemployed, the Disabled, and those who wish they had your job.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.
Found this in my in box this morning and felt like sharing it.
Believe.

Wow, LG...powerful story. Wise words. Hindsight has 20/20 vision, no pun intended.
I try to focus on what I do have (my daily "gratitude list") than what I do not have. besides, when I think about it, I have what I need, exactly what I need.
Peace and Love,
Jo

nothing wrong but adjusting to things,
new terms,
new feelings,
cleaning out, throwing away...
it's using up a LOT of energy.

big hugs
(a little bigger for mal!)
just came on to check and there was so much new stuff, felt i wanted to at least respond.

Oh, Mish I can relate. I've been doing much of the same.
Feels like time to dump the old stuff, but it takes energy for sorting
it all through with the fine sieve I am using
Rest feels good, as does extra time for introspection.
Kindness: My wonderful loving and supportive family and friends (on line and off)
Beauty: This gorgeous cooler weather with welcome pre-fall breezes.
Abundance: Much laughter and love amongst my children.
Those giggles feed my soul!

Kindnesses Galore: Friends have come over and helped me shape up my backyard, tearing down rotten side fences, leaving just the cyclone fence behind it and patching up the back fence, and getting rid of wasp nests. A friend fixed my broken kitchen drawer. My next door neighbor is going to use his chainsaw today to give some of my trees out front a trim. Another neighbor helped me get rid of the winged ants that recently invaded my home.
A relative helped me settle my largest debt, negotiating it down to 30% of the total and loaning the money to settle it.
Beauty: The beautiful generous hearts of people who care about me!
Abundance: One of my local facebook friends just posted that the company she works for is hiring a software trainer! This will be a great job for me! Praying!.....

Kindness: Our table has been filled with great food since i came home from the hospital thursday and more is on its way over now (My boys say i should have surgery once a week - thing is, I don't cook!)
Beauty: Eating a freshly peeled locally grown juicy peach at the kitchen table for breakfast, watching hummingbirds sip from the feeder strategically placed outside the window.
Abundance: Lunch in the beautiful sunshine delivered with a slight breeze consisting of dad-in-law's garden tomatoes with pimento cheese and mayonnaise on white bread. Topped with the last serving of mom's blackberry cobbler made from berries she picked. And the refrigerator is still full.
Believe.

Kindness - The friend/old tenant who came over today and helped with Mom and made pasta while I slept!! She even offered the services of her strong young boys to help with anything - like taking luggage to the attic! Just so sweet.
Beauty - laying in the driveway and being covered with kisses from my verylovingdogs - and today - watching them run and play!
also - Mom's support group for people with prostheses this evening was really fascinating. I met some amazing people - all of them fighters. There was a speaker there who talked about services available and had packets and packets of information. Abundance of resources, too!!
And - this perfect night. Cool stillness, crickets chirping even in the more urban suburbs, and the waxing crescent of the moon!
Abundance - Just laying in my bed with my beautiful Sophie and Maple. I missed them so... and it is so good to be with them and feel their effervescent joy!
Mame and Linda - so so glad you are surrounded by such wonderful support and family! True abundance and lovingkindness are all around you and I'm so happy to hear about it! Just Wonderful! And I have always wanted to see a hummingbird. One day soon, they will take my breath away. The animals are so sacred...
Peace in your hearts,
With the love of my soul

I always thought of hummingbird as being specific to the mountains. I've only ever seen them in Colorado.
Mallory, isn't it nice to snuggle with your furry friends when you come home from a trip and they missed you?
