-For my family in Cleveland who I miss, and pray for, and wish I could be with at this time of fear and hope and quiet desperation.... for the dozens and dozens who pray with us, for my Dad who walks his steps and takes care of my dogs and goes to work and the hospital every day, updates the family, and nourishes Mom with his presence. For my Mom, who inspires me by her Will to Live, who I love beyond what I can bear in this moment...

(((((Mallory))))) I just re-read this and lifted up a prayer for your Mom and family.

Wind whistling homage
to the bright prospects of the day
I think I will open this page up everyday, just so I can see such beauty.

You certainly may, Jo, (no pun intended), but you might need to bring tents and heavy duty sleeping bags, since my house is so small. It would be very fun though to share the beauty of Colorado with you all!

I am grateful for getting to experience nature in so many wonderful ways over the last few weeks! Here are some pictures to give you a glimpse of a few of them:
On the back deck of a friend's house, there were a dozen deer hanging out. And yes, there is a reason they all gather there...the same reason so many friends including myself do, they feed us!
At 5pm I usually stop calling on business owners because it's too late to catch them. One beautiful evening last week, I found myself near a small lake about that time, and decided to take a little walk around it. I came upon this fascinating crane, which I watched change postions a few times, taking pictures with my blackberry...(the quality isn't great, cuz I had to zoom way in).
You all may not realize that Colorado is part of the North American Flyway for migrating birds. I see Canadian Geese quite often, but have never gotten this up close and personal with a crane! Definitely worth burrying my white shoes in mud.

And today I was grateful for a snow day....I know, it's April, but we often get more snow in March and April than in the winter, but then there are perfect sunny days in between. We woke up to a winter wonderland on Easter Sunday, and then by monday I was taking a walk around the 'hood in short sleeves and this was the only trace of snow left that I could find:
But I digress...like I said, today was a snow day, which means...
a guilt-free opportunity to putter around the house and have a leisurely breakfast of avocado cream cheese omlette with green salsa and Dakota bread toast, and Ethiopian Mocha Decaf coffee (my fav cuz it is rich and full bodied without bitterness and I make it really strong for lots of flavor). Then for lunch I thawed out some BBQ'd ribs to have with my strawberry spinach and pecan salad with Briana's poppyseed dressing. Yum! I feel rich, and warm and very grateful!

wrong season, jo.
(be sure to check out the crane pictures...I think I was amending my post to add them, while you were posting.)
Aren't you all proud of me, I managed to tie in (muddy) shoes, food and coffee!

Love the crane pics, Mame...no way I could stand on one leg like that!
BTW if you had taken your shoes off to feel the mud 'tween your toesies, you would not have gotten your shoes dirty when you took the pics .
One other comment...avocado in an omelette? You Coloradians (is that a word?) have interesting tastes. Love the idea of the Ethiopian coffee, though.
Peace,
Jo
