Her heart ached and ached for longer than she could remember and just when she thought it might burst from grief the tears came and did not stop for many months.
One morning she woke and the pain was gone, only to be replaced by a soft yet powerful light of glittering gold. Is this God? She whispered wet-eyed in the silence of that dawn. The answer arrived in her newborn's first smile.
