Kindness: Mom was hurting too much to go to the bathroom, so she emptied her bags into a five gallon bucket, and as I went to empty it in the bathroom, her brother took it from me, without a word. It was the last thing I expected at that moment.
Beauty: Children, dancing, singing, the smile of joy and pride on my cousin's face as she introduced her father and mother and cousin (me) to little actors and actresses. The tears of pride in her father's eyes.
Abundance: Amidst an abundance of talent, for that brief moment, all I could see were two hands, held fast. She whispered in his ear, "I am so glad to be here with you."
"Why?" he asked, his eyes looking down, but his heart begging for affirmation.
"Because I love you. Because you are my brother. Because I didn't know if I would get to see you at all. Because I don't know when I will see you again. But I know I am here now and I know I will see you again, and I am grateful. I'm grateful to be here."
He said nothing. He just looked down, his head unmoving. But while one hand squeezed hers gently, the other moved up to his face. I presume to wipe away a tear.

Kindness: The words my mother said to me yesterday.
Beauty: The look on my mother's face as she and I talked, really talked.
Abundance: My mother's very words.
My mother and I actually TALKED, not around or over and under things, not a skim across the edges thing, but real words and real feelings. It has taken a loooooong time to get here, but I am thankful I am here.

kindness: a great friend who is recommending me for a short term job in a totally new, but right-up-my-alley, kind of work
beauty: going thru things, cleaning out things, and while doing it, reliving memories and moments that can never disappear from my life
abundance: money that more work can bring in, and knowing that i have all the abundance i need in my son and my friends and my memories.

I am enjoying reading these too, Kindred! Jo and Mallory's meaningful times with their moms, mish's memories...and mish, I'm excited about the job possibility for you! I look forward to hearing more about it!
As for me, today I am amazed by the beauty of my friends' kind and generous hearts and how many wonderful friends I have! and that sums up all 3!

Kindness: Someone who hurt my feelings a few days ago, responded to my gentle confrontation with "Please forgive me! I was in a terrible mood. Forgive me, I was being a &%#head!"

Kindness: One of my neighbors mows my lawn for me on a regular basis and leaves a trashbag full of grass next to my trashcans.
Beauty: I am all dressed in bright turquoise! I LOVE the color turquoise!
Abundance: I bought some more lovely fat black seedless grapes, for 89 cents a pound, plucked them off their stems, washed them and stuck them in the freezer for a lovely summer treat.

a concert at the hollywood bowl (my fave place)...patti labelle (yes. yes i saw here, yes!!!!) paid for, dinner paid for, and lovely friends took me....

Kindness: three nurses on duty came to give Mom their best wishes as we left. Mom told the doctor who helped her yesterday and today that she wished she were in Cleveland so she could be Mom's doctor at home.
The beautiful lunch my uncle made for us.
Beauty: The Marvelous Sky, The Cities of Clouds, The Friends all around.
Abundance: Coming Home!!!
