I made out like a bandit today!
A friend in my writer's meetup group had heard me say that someday I'd like to have a laptop so that I could work from anywhere. Well, she had an old one from a former job which she'd tried to give back to the company and they didn't want it, and it was just sitting out in her garage. She has a better one. So she gave it to me today! ...along with a case and a docking station and external keyboard.
And then on my way to her house to pick it up, I stopped at a garage sale and found a wall hanging I had seen in a store for $80, and had had to restrain myself from buying. It was brand new, had never been hung up and I got it for $20!!!! This is one of those waterfall paintings on a mirror which lights up and makes waterfall noises like you see in some Chinese restaurants. They can be kind of tacky if you don't have the right setting for them, but I have the perfect setting! My cozy little garden level basement den is silvery green with wild fern wallpaper below the chair rail and a royal blue sofa, loveseat, chairs and ottomans. The walls are hung with beautiful nature photography of Oregon and Washington mountains, beaches, lush foggy forests and streams. This adds just the right finishing touch to the room's atmosphere!!
And I'm starting to get a few orders on my website for light therapy lamps, now that autumn is approaching!
I feel richly blessed!!

Thanks, Kandy and Tina. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to hang the picture yet. It is very heavy and thick. My first attempt resulted in the wire (which I thought was pretty strong and thick) breaking. Fortunately it didn't have far to fall and landed on the sofa.
Sorry A, no blue pumps or steel-toed slippers.
But my good fortune did continue through the weekend. Passing through Castle Rock on an outing yesterday, I found a nice $50 leather and suede purse for $10 at the outlet mall in a soft light green that will go nicely with all my neon green and peridot blouses, as well as being neutral enough to go with everything else. (Those colors and turquoise are currently my favorite colors to wear). My old purse was getting pretty ratty.

Mame,
You might need to put in heavy duty wall anchors.....maybe even need to hang it from a stud. I wish I had a web site for you to go to, but I don't, so maybe, that is your next step...

you guys crack me up!!!
I started to write what kind of trouble could I get into with French Cleat?
But then realized that there are certain truths that I know, and you are truly the wise man, and if I should leave it alone, not even going to think about where I could go with it...
Thanks Rich, for looking out for me...
