I'm thankful most of all for music. And lately I've been obsessed with these four songs:

Remember Me by Mark Schultz:

Shelter Your Name by Danielle Rose:

How You Live by Point of Grace:

Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) by Chris Tomlin:

I love YouTube! Happy listening.

How You Live (Turn Up The Music) is the song that plays as the credits roll for a movie called "Saving Sarah Cain" that Mom and I happened to watch around the same time Sis discovered this song...

The movie is great for anyone who loves God or Amish or cute kids, or just heartwarming movies...

But I think the song stuck out to me because my mom, who rarely hears words in songs unless they are spoken to her, ..she has a hard time really listening to music unless I point out to her, "Stop, Listen!" (you can imagine that, coming from me, I wish she really "Got" music more easily... but I give her credit for stopping to listen when I ask her to ) ...Well, I didn't ask or anything. She heard "kiss all your children, dance with your wife, tell your husband you love him, every night," and the music kept going but she turned and said, "I love you Bobby," and kissed my forehead... It wasn't random, she totally heard! She was smiling because of the song!

I've had her listen to it a few times since, and told her how much that simple little moment made me ridiculously happy, and repeated ALL the words for her to hear, ...it has become our song, for a time. You know, when we drive together, we listen to it.

Tonight we all drove back from getting a large pizza half off, and that song played in the car, and, to my shock and surprise, SHE turned up the music, and started singing along with the first line of the refrain...

Peace in your hearts,
With the love of my soul

*melts into a puddle of happy*

Yay for music! And for random moments of happy bonding.

My mom used to tell me that she was probably the only mother in town whose teenage children were telling HER to turn the stereo down. She liked her rock and roll: Meatloaf, Blood Sweat and Tears, Journey, Chicago, you name it. She and my dad met and fell in love with these bands at the background of their lives. And my dad is a piano man with a good ear...I think she was probably sold on him when he played and sang many of the Journey hits (among others) in his own rock band.

Oh I hope music never ceases to be a part of my life!

My mom totally got music. She would talk to me about songs on the radio...her fave was country western.....but she liked the pop music I listened to, too.
And she would dance in the kitchen by her self and I'd laugh because she'd be silly.
My Dad really liked music too. I learned in my 30'd that he loved jazz and that was his favorite music....i had wondered why I loved jazz so much!
I can't imagine my life without music either, Krista and Mallory.
