i know you meant the best for us (and our feet) and i love ya for it....really!!!
but those aren't foo foo styles!!
those are 'i sprained my ankle when i fell off the porch so can't wear my heels' styles....!

altho-o-o-ough...
i think i wouldn't mind having a pair for the trips to Austin where the pattern is often park~walk, park~walk, park~walk!!!
'cept for that fear of 'never going back'!!

Hi Sarah.

I wear men's shoes sometimes because I am so tall that if I cannot find a woman's 11 I go for the man's, and I do not have a hard time finding men's shoes that pass for women's shoes.

Scarl, come on, try new things...get a pair of birks...throw caution to the wind.

Peace,
Jo

I swear to you, the dog actually sings with joy (sounds just like howling) when you walk toward the shed where the kibble is kept. I've taken to singing (howling) back at him.

Dog: OOOOOOoooooooo, yooooooouuuuu bring me foooooooooood!
Sass: OOOOOOoooooooo, I bring the foooooooooooood!

ROFL!

*still chuckling*

ohhhhh Sassy. What kind of mutt do you have? I have two coonhounds, but I think they get too excited about food to sing for their supper - Since Mom was in the hospital, and they already have to lay down and stay before they get their food, Dad extended the plan to make it a little easier. He says, "RUG!" and they scramble to lay on the rug so he can put down a handful at a time,
"OKAY!" and then its a race to see who can eat a handful of kibble off the floor faster than the other one. I like it better than the bowl method, because then they aren't inhaling their food in one breath!

Thank you for this, Kindred. All those enigma's that are "Just Wrong" seem to be, no matter how wrong they are. At least they are fun to make fun of!!! lol (you sound like an old friend of mine - she was always declaring things that were "just WRONG!" lol - and probably still has that old pin on her backpack that says "Just visiting this planet.")

Scarlett - do you really wear heels on your front porch? Really?

Jo - kudos to you for posting all those shoe pics. They made me smile. Especially your foo foo birks. Ummmm I'm with Scarlett though - I know I won't go back.... if I ever go there. Besides, yesterday it was so freaking beautiful out I took off my shoes and socks so I could walk to my vehicle barefoot - in the sunshine. My feet need new callouses, but they were still happy

yeah I am with you on this one mish, when is dinner, I am coming over. We had wilted spinach the other day, with bacon and green onions, wilted with vinegar, come to think of it we had lemon pepper chicken breasts with the meal... should have popped a bottle of vino with it. Followed with a slice of key lime pie out of the freezer just long enough that it is still kind of frozen but won't break your teeth or give you brain freeze.... yum

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Cuuuuute pup Sass! Does he/she have a name? I relate to giving into happy dog Funk - when I get to visit home, I don't bother taking anything in on the first trip inside, because that would be silly. I go in, open the door, and brace myself, by crouching near the floor, and duck my head under my arms for the coming Happiness Attack. It is quite effective, because I don't get frenched, but once the kisses slow down a little, I have to make sure I don't get knocked over. Sophie and Maple are normally "good" and don't .. er, jump, but definitely not if they know you and haven't seen you for a few weeks. Then they are sooooo exuberant that you better brace for that assault of LOVE!

Mmmmm Foods! We can all have dinner together! (Jo can bring the coffee !) Monday was my night to cook - and I was going to make eggplant Lasagna, or eggplant parmesan. Hadn't decided. But then there was no eggplant at the market this weekend, no vendor's had it, so I improvised. I made yummy couscous with zucchini, tomatoes, onions, scallions, cucumbers, an orange bell pepper... it was colorful and tasty. I also made Zucchini bread for the first time and was ultra happy with myself. I don't understand how someone could not Love Asparagus! But then, I'm not exactly much of an apple person, with the exception of Sassy's apple's of course So I understand, but cauliflower? broccoli? Fresh Spinach? (or wilted?) ... Come on Jo! Try new things! Throw caution to the wind!!!!

My sis has 2 some kinda' spaniels. She came home from work one night and one of the dogs jumped up on her to do his "I'm so happy you're home" dance. His head hit her nose in his excitement, and her nose ended up in the ER diagnosed as broken. I don't know why I find that so amusing...you'd have to know my sister...she is so, so, so PROPER. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall to see her reaction.

Mall, next time you make zuchinni bread (I do eat zuchinni in or out of bread, love squash too), will you also make a coffee cake?...just askin'.

Peace,
Jo
