Amen - and a great way to start a new year. Happy New Year - old eyes and new eyes can all be wide open on a new journey. Amen.

I second that!!!

Look up at the sky. Ask yourself, "Has the sheep eaten the flower or not?" And you'll see how everything changes.
And no grown-up will ever understand how such a thing could be so important!

thoughts on giving....

I just recieved another copy of The Prophet yesterday.
(I'm always giving them away but I must have at least one copy in my possession! lol)
Every time I get another copy I have to read it again..? It's not like it's gonna be different stories in a different binding.
But every time it's something different that catches my mind.
This time it was his words on 'giving.'

very loosely paraphrased and expounded on....
do not consider if the recepient is deserving but rather are you worthy of the giving?
does the Sun and the Rain debate if we are deserving?

Gibran's example-
"You often say, 'I would give, but only to the deserving.'
The trees in your orchard say not so, nor the flocks in your pasture.
They give that they may live, for to withhold is to perish."

...sorta takes the pressure off, huh?
We are not human beings making a spiritual journey...we are spiritual beings making a human journey.

I love Gibran. Such a wise and eloquent man. One of my fav quotes of his is:
"Say not, 'I have found the truth' but rather, 'I have found a truth.'"

And you are right, Scarl, his perspective on giving does take the pressure off. It is, indeed, an honor, to give, eh?

Love, Jo
