**The tender affection of my kitties as they purr and snuggle with me.
**The sharing of a chicken enchilada.

Beauty and Abundance:
**The new-to-me trail I just discovered in a large park close to my new home, thick with pine trees and two lovely ponds they call "lakes" here in Colorado, that climbs up to a spot with a bench and a beautiful view of the mountain framed in forest.
**Getting to the new trail at what photographers call "the golden hour" of pre-dusk sunlight, which made the water and the aspen leaves and pine needles shimmer and glimmer, and illuminated every beautiful green thing in a magical way!!!

Kindness ~~~ My neighbor helping Mom around the garden... Neighborhood picnics and unasked for favors, sharing of food and joy and laughter and love without thought... happy.

Beauty ~~~ Memorial day walk with new friends in the rare wetlands of Ohio, Burtland... Fireworks with children who cared more about protecting their puppies ears and comforting it so it wasn't scared than watching the pretty lights in the sky, Native American chants and making up our own dances to them in the living room, sporadic trips to the grocery store to see if they have Mint Klondike bars, buying caramel pretzel instead (anybody know if they exist? the mint ones I mean?) and breaking them open at 10 a.m. for breakfast. Oh, and hanging out with curly haired 14-16 month olds. Okay okay - ANY children whatsoever. I'm a sucker. They are STUNNING beauty.

and Abundance - WOWWEEEE it was so cool to see a spider yesterday - not just any spider, but a mama spider, carrying all her babies on her back! Friend found saw her and noticed she looked all bumpy and strange, and she crawled on a leaf so she picked mama up to look closer, and even though she was close to the ground, when Mama jumped, some of her babies got dislodged and she sat there waiting for the microscopic little itty bitty arachnids to come and climb back on! That had to be one of the coolest things I ever saw in nature...
though I'm always in awe whenever I have the chance to birdwatch...... learning more about those guys every day when I am in the middle of nowhere East of Cleveland! LOVE IT!

Kindness- A plate of food waiting for me when I arrive at a friends house, even though I intended on buying myself dinner. An invitation to spend the night when necessity is not the reason I'm around. Being told that "If there was an extra room, you could be our roommate too. We'd all love that."
Beauty- Sunsets over fields where friends don't judge my lack of athletic skill. Laughing without worrying that someone would think I was strange. Finding someone who thinks my quirky comments are just as witty and hilarious as I do.
Abundance- Blankets. Smiles. Friends.

It's my first, hope it's likable =) All in all, it's been a remarkable evening.

the neighbor who wouldn't let us pay him for the load of mesquite wood we picked up last weekend.
(so we took him back a smoked turkey and half a brisket)

Beauty
that magical full moon last weekend while Very Best Girl Friend and I were up ALL NIGHT LONG cooking a couple hundred pounds of meat on the smoker! (also made me smile to remember my darling and I were camping under that moon a month ago!)

it occurred to VBGF about 4:30 in the morning to ask, "Now why do we do this at night rather than during the day?"
I told her, "Well, Mama and Daddy always did it during the night because they were serving it the next day and it's just easier to take it off the pit, slice it and serve it than to have to slice it, refrigerate it then have to heat it back up again."
"We're doing it in the middle of the night because you called last weekend and said,
'hey, you wanna smoke some briskets and turkeys Saturday night?"
we've done stranger things...I didn't think too much of it!

Kindness: thankful for the wonderful sister I have who always understands and does the most remarkable big things. But it's the little things like taking care of the parents' doctors' appointments that mean so much.

Beauty: my maple tree. Though fall wasn't as generous as she often is her, the trees didn't finally turn a deep red and I just looked out the window and noticed a beautiful red blanket around the tree and a few leaves.

Abundance: So thankful this year for plenty of food and enough money in the bank to pay the bills. So much more than last year, and it feels good. Remembering to share the abundance with others who aren't there.

Thankful: For all the wonderful people who extend helping hands, hearts and ears when we need it.

Yesterday was so full of kind deeds, I'm still teary eyed.
1. a person showed up in another city early morning and took a person to get him involved in helping others (surprised all of us).
2. a daughter takes time to take her mom to run all of her errands (many doing kind things for others) and then to a medical procedure
3. doctor who successfully performs medical procedure correcting problem caused by the "You're just a Number Dr." Mom can see again! That's pretty big.
4.a soldier is home for a few days from Afghanistan to marry his bride. He'll leave the morning after the wedding to return to train for the next deployment. This little couple has no money. A friend who works at interstate hwy hotel offered them a room for $30. A random conversation with someone who doesn't know them gets them a room for the night in an awesome, historic, storybook hotel for free.

Have I exceeded my limit? That's just part of one day. I love my life.

so the cold weather had been forcast, rain first then dismal bitter malexistant ickyness, so the rain came, we refused to watch it, just carried out our daily affairs since it got so dark so fast anyways right? So there we was, My 7 yr old boo and I, bout 1130, and the Sun, THE SUN, shot out of nowhere and shined down on our little spot on earth.

Mighty, MIGHTY, so mighty I grabbed up my boy and carried him outside barefoot to save him ruinin his socks. D'ya see a rainbow lad? D'ya see a rainbow? I asked my boy, and we searched the sky, young eyes and old, and together we saw none.

The sun Shines upon us lad, witness a prayer with your own eyes, for God truly loves us all.
