my darling is making a special cheesecake...something with caramel candies in it and my mother makes the best pies!!!
actually, the pie crust is my favorite part. sometimes she'll make me and daddy just a pie crust...with cinnamon and sugar baked on it....yuuuuummmmm

Kindness ~~ all the birthday wishes and the beautiful card and Christmas cd from an amazing friend far away in CA, not to mention the card from my Krista Sista. Also, my dear friend who is here from Florida made me dinner on my birthday!! So, Mom didn't feel she had to cook. Her daughter, who is 3, even helped us decorate our Christmas tree... amazing child. AND her brother included me and another friend when we all went to Chuck E. Cheese for the little one. Good times  I am so happy she could visit.
Beauty ~~ excitement for an internship interview coming up, the music that is playing *right now* from my friend in CA (Thank you Rose!) ... Long conversations with close friends, beautiful puppies, Mom feeling well enough to walk more and use her cane, a long hot shower, breakfast with hot cocoa with llooooottts of whipped cream, lol, ... and especially spending so much time with loved ones who may move back home to Cleveland in the next year we hope. Its the little things that come with having time...
Abundance ~~ having time, hope, music, the filling up of the soul on a winter night when it is at once quiet and clamoring with so much beauty on my heart that I know not where to begin. The plans for sharing love, with more loved ones, as the days flow so quickly by... yet I cannot fathom eternity. All I can acknowledge is how blessed I feel, and the abundance in the feeling...
And how grateful am I, to have somewhere to share all these blessings, with my beloved storyfamily!

Hola Estimado Little Monk! No sé esta canción, aunque escuché ella en youtube en su sugerencia. Sin embargo, también no sé mucho español. ¡Utilicé un traductor en línea para recordar la mayor parte de estas palabras!!! Gracias por la canción. Hello, dear Little Monk,
I do not know this song, though I listened to it on youtube at your suggestion. However, I also do not know much spanish. I used an online translator to remember most of these words!!! Thank you for the song. I love Linda Ronstadt, especially her arrangement of "When You Wish Upon A Star." I am sorry if this grammar is incorrect!
For the Gratitude Journal, - I am grateful to remember at least half of those words, even if I don't remember grammar!

Kindness and Abundance--A kind well-meaning friend had given me a check for $50 a week or so ago and I deposited it in my account. Today someone from my bank called and said that my account was overdrawn since yesterday. Her check bounced meaning I went $4 in the red. Then after a $19 returned check fee and two days of overdraft fees ($37.50 each) I was at -$98. I went to my bank in tears and the branch manager recognized me from another time I'd come into the bank in tears (it's become a not uncommon occurence this year), and asked how I was, said he'd been thinking about me. When I told him what had happened, and how embarassed I'd be to have to tell a friend who tried to do me a kindness, that she'd bounced a check, he went way back into my account history and refunded any fees he could find until he brought my account up to $50! God bless him!
More kindness and abundance--Then since I am downsizing to sell my house and go rent a room from a friend, I gave a little tabletop grill I've never actually used to my elderly neighbor as a Christmas present. (He had been in my garage and admired it once.) He wouldn't let me just give it to him. He paid me $25 for it. (It only cost me $30 new.) So I put $20 in my gas tank and decided to buy $5 worth of $1 chicken sandwiches at Wendy's and go pass them out in "tent city" by the river, where lots of homeless people are camping out. I also had an extra warm wool coat that I wanted to give away on this snowy night. Couldn't really find my way into tent city though, so I just went downtown and readily found a handful of homeless people. One called me an angel. I felt so blessed to come home to my dry warm bed and my comfortable house, even if it isn't really mine but for a few days longer. Grateful, that I won't be joining the tents along the river.

Oh and speaking of kindness...did i tell you about my amazing friend who is having some work done on her house so that she can rent out to me her double-sized master bedroom with a private entrance. My 2 kitties and I will be moving to an affluent northern suburb to a nice house in the pines, with a wonderful laid-back fun creative professional writer friend!
