Once upon time there was a Gratitude Journal posting... Could that be one of the big topic headings?

Today I am grateful for:

-shade
-orange beds
-new opportunities that I am embracing
-excitement
-pools
-mommy cuddles
-quiet moments
-special friends--new and old

art, both seeing it & doing it
artists who are looking in another direction than I am
people who are willing to share their understanding without expecting it will be any help at all for anyone else
fresh avocadoes
the smell of oil paint
images that show up when I'm concentrating on something else entirely
conversations with my sons
walking to breakfast with Ellen
air that smells like flowers
words that point at what they're really meaning, so I won't miss it
a studio of my own
meeting new people halfway across the world
the chance to do work I love

with love, Brian

Today, I'm grateful for Purple.

Deep, plummy purple, with velvety moods that give the eyes a place to rest and fill.

If I could jump into purple today, I would pray that my feet would stain, so that everytime I looked down I would feel at peace.

Today I am especially grateful for telephones which is significant because normally I don't like them much....the incessant ringing with work related traumas or people who want to sell me something I don't need or want on the other end. But today, they've met their great potential and brought my far-away sons to my doorstep. My New Jersey Ocean boy called twice (just because) and my Colorado Mountain boy just called to let me know he's about to get on the plane which will bring him home for a few days....so....Thank you Mr. Bell for a mighty little gizmo indeed!!

Oh, yes. Dark chocolate. 71% at the very least..

Good local wines (especially those pinots & meritages from Santa Ynez) & my family enjoying them with me.

That my children are great people to hang out with, unless they've had too much sugar..
