Did you know, said that mother, that the fog that drifts like a slope over the dam and into the water is just a faerie slide?

No, said the daughter, I didn't... but look there goes one now..

And, the son said, from the backseat, there's another one, sliding down on a surfboard, I think he's trying to see how far he can go across the surface of the water until he falls in.

Yes, said the mother, it's a faerie slide, for even though you'd think they'd just a soon fly across in the mornings, back to their warm homes for the day, they'd much rather raise a ruckus and slide...

There goes the grandpa, the little ones are riding one his lap...and SPLASH! Oh, what a noise, do you think anyone else knows, asked the daughter

Only those of us who believe in faeries....

Do you...well, do you!

(this is an excerpt from a real conversation, I wish I could show you how the fog arches over the road that I drive across the dam near my house every morning, it looks as if it morphs out of the woods, and arches gently up the slope, then slips right into the water, where it ends. Some mornings it's so clear you think you could walk on it, but there's a sign posted...faeries only, no humans allowed!)
